CONTINUING ANNOUNCEMENTS

Sunday-Morning Nursery - We have a well-staffed nursery available on Sundays from 9:00 – 11:45 a.m. for children through age five years.

The Lord's Supper - As Disciples of Christ, we share in the Lord's Supper every Sunday.  Our communion table is open to all who trust in Jesus Christ.  When the trays are passed, we hold the bread and cup so that we partake together.  Each week we break a loaf of fresh bread to share.  The bread trays also hold other kinds of bread, including small rectangular individual pieces of bread as well as fish-shaped crackers for those who find the other forms difficult to pick up.

Prayer Ministry - A group meets at the church regularly to pray.  Anyone wishing to request prayer may do so by leaving a written request in today's offering plate or in the basket in the office labeled for prayer requests.  You may also speak to the pastor or contact the church office (252-4393).  Resources to support individuals in their practice of prayer are available in the literature rack near the church office.  Copies of the church's printed prayer list are also available in that location as well as in a brightly colored folder on the bulletin board across from the church office.

Calendar of Scheduled Activities - You may pick up a copy of the complete listing of all the scheduled activities in our building during the week (including I.T.N. of the Bluegrass, Kentucky Refugee Ministries, Lexington Korean School, Narcotics Anonymous, and the Hope Center classes) inside the entrance to the church office.

Hearing-Assistance Devices and Large-Print Hymnals - At the beginning of the worship service, feel free to pick up one of the hearing assistance devices or large-print hymnals available near the sound booth at the back of the sanctuary.

Bad-Weather Closings - On weekdays, if the Fayette County Public Schools are dismissed because of the weather, activities and meetings at the church are cancelled.  Cancellation of worship and activities on Sundays will be announced on local radio and television stations.

God's Pantry - God's Pantry is in need of non-perishable items such as canned goods (especially canned soups and canned fruit), boxed or packaged dry stock, bags of rice, or other packaged grains or pastas.  Please bring your donations to the church when you come to worship service on the first Sunday of every month.  Make sure that the dates on the food items you bring in have not expired.  There is a bright blue barrel outside of the church office which is labeled with a big sign that says "Give Hope."  Place your donations in this barrel and know that your gift gives sustenance and hope to another.

Join Us for Fellowship! - Coffee, doughnuts, and good conversation are available in the front hallway of the education building after the Church School hour and before worship.

Church School Classes for All Ages - Classes meet 9:10 to 10:00 a.m. on Sunday.  We have three adult classes that meet on the first floor of the education building.  Children's classes meet on the second floor of the education building.  Our church nursery is available during church school and worship.

Deadline - Please give any information for the Sunday bulletin to the church office by the previous Wednesday.

Lions Recycle for Sight Program - Do you have eyeglasses you are no longer using?  If so, please bring them to the church and place them in the Lions Recycle box located in the hallway near the church office.  Your unwanted glasses will help someone see better!

Education Coupons - Remember to save your "Education" coupons found on General Mills products like cereal boxes and many other items.  Place them in the box on the bulletin board outside the rear entrance to the Sanctuary.  The money raised from the coupons goes to help children in need and it is greatly appreciated.

Changes - Please notify the church office of any change in your address, phone number, etc., so that our congregation records can be kept up to date.

Kroger Cards - Please remember that you can purchase Kroger cards from any choir member.  Use your card to pay for your groceries or gasoline at any Kroger and Kroger returns 4% of the cost of your purchases to the church.  There is no cost to you except that you must make your purchases at Kroger and use the "gift" card.  When the balance on your card gets low, you may increase its balance at Kroger's service counter.

Woodlawn Home for Children in Danville - Jean Cox makes occasional visits to the home.  If you would like to donate any items (school supplies, clothing for boys and girls -- teenage and younger, toiletries, etc.) for the children, please give them to Jean and she will see that they are delivered to the home.  Your donations are greatly appreciated!
